38 weeks

Baby is getting bigger, straight out the front and down. I am hoping we are really nearing the end. Puppy is very attentive lately, if you can't tell from the last picture.

35 weeks

As of this Sunday, we are one month away from my due date. Poppy is finally dropping a little, which relieves the breathlessness but is really aggravating my sciatic nerve. Some days I can't even stand still or get up the stairs easily.

32 weeks

We just got a kickin' new camera (Sony Cybershot H20) and played a bit with it. It's my birthday and we are 32 weeks along. Poppy is shoving all my organs out of the way for more room to play.

28 weeks

I have hit my third trimester now and I certainly feel it.

The crib is finished and in the room. We are awaiting the mattress.

26 weeks

Ziggy now sits and waits at Clint's feet for his turn to be in a picture. He just came back from a run at the track so he's a bit out of breath.

I think it's the shirt...but I know I am starting to look like there is a ball under there.

Boom, my belly button.

The crib is finished

While it has not been "finished" in terms of stain or oil, the construction is complete on the crib. It has cherry inlays in the top section that you can see in a few pictures. For now, it will be in the basement until it is finished.

A little late

We have been trying to take bi-weekly belly pictures but this past week was crazy. Clint has been traveling for work, which makes for long days, and work has been out of control. So these pictures are at 22 weeks, 5 days.

We have one side of the crib complete and both ends, but I haven't gotten out there to take pictures. Clint is very proud.

First baby pictures

Clint's comment: I think it has my nose.

Twenty weeks

We have our ultrasound tomorrow so I hope to have some baby pics to put up here by the weekend. Here are my twenty week pictures. I have finally popped and the lovely top is from my couturier (aka Mom).

Ziggy was jealous and had to elbow into a picture.

Eighteen weeks!

We finally got to taking some pictures today. The first is the wonderful cardigan I got in the mail as a belated Christmas present from my parents. My mom made sure I have lots of room in it to grow. Right now it's a little big but so many of my sweaters are too small right now and I have to be able to wear layers to the school, as my small room can get up into the eighties when it is ten outside.

Registry headaches

I thought our wedding registry was overwhelming...and then I started our baby registry. There is SO MUCH to put on it. It is bare bones right now on Babies R Us and we plan to go after our ultrasound to do most of it in person. Right now, I can't believe all that we need to get...carseat, pack'n'play, crib mattress, bedding, stroller, bottles, clothing...it's a lot. Mostly, we don't even know where to start, although we are both researching all the options like crazy and plan to hold off on buying some things until after Poppy comes. After all, as long as the baby has something to wear, somewhere to sleep, a way to get home, and bottles, it will be ok for a while.

Crib progress

Clint has come close to finishing both the end pieces of the crib. We have done it in ash which we got from our neighbor's family sawmill. Clint has gotten to use all of his fun tools and has bought even more (including a belt sander that he has deemed "awesome").

The first entry

I thought that hubby and I should create a blog for friends and family to follow through our pregnancy with our little one. We have named it Poppy and I am current 17 1/2 weeks along. We have a photo from over a week ago where my belly bump is starting:
Right now, Clint is in the garage building the crib. We will post pictures as it comes along. I have done very little knitting for Poppy, although I have started a blanket. Right now, I have lots of other projects on needles and several paying customers for hats and the like that have priority.

I am still fairly sick. I have been able to decrease my antinausea meds but it is certainly not at the end of being sick. I have heard from many people that it would be a girl if I am this sick. However, I have heard from others that the way I carry means a boy. The texture of my hair, a boy...the Chinese gender chart, a boy...my cravings, a girl. I am waiting for the Ouja board to come out or for someone to put my wedding ring on a string and wave it over my belly. I doubt that the guesses will slow down in the future, but I sure hope they do!

Our ultrasound will be at 20 weeks on January 28th. To the disappointment of many, we are not planning to find out the gender. There are many reasons why we aren't, which I could list here, but why bother? Just know that it will be a big surprise in June!

I doubt either Clint or I will be good about continuously posting. My goal will be once a week!
